A message from our President and CEO regarding COVID-19

Dear Partners,

With global attention on the COVID-19 situation, each day brings new headlines of its impact on communities, businesses, and the travel and tourism industry. The safety and well-being of our team members, partners and guests are always top of mind for us, and our focus on this priority is even further emphasized during this challenging time.

As our travel partners, we know that many of you are fielding concerns from clients about their travel plans with requests to delay, or even cancel, upcoming travel plans. We understand this concern and wish to share with you the following updates to our operations.

First and foremost, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, which is constantly evolving with new information arising daily. Every decision we make is consistent with the facts and advice provided by the World Health Organization and the Public Health Agency of Canada. As a company that operates exclusively in Western Canada, we closely monitor the guidance of the Canadian health authorities in determining our actions. At this time, the Canadian government has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada. While there have been confirmed cases in our operating region, all affected people have been isolated and the majority are recovering at home. Understandably, this situation could change, so we will continue to monitor it and make any necessary adjustments ahead of our travel season.

Our travel season begins on April 13, and we are preparing for that by implementing enhanced screening and prevention procedures to reduce the potential risk to our guests, partners, and team members. This will include pre-travel screening of all guests and crew to report illness, if they have been in contact with someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, or if they have travelled to an area with apparent community spread. We will also enhance sanitation onboard with additional disinfection, both during and between travel days.

Despite the current low-risk rating in Canada and our enhanced operational precautions, we understand that some guests may wish to alter their immediate travel plans. To give these guests, and our partners, some peace of mind during these challenging times, we have temporarily adjusted our terms and conditions to enable guests who are 60 days ahead of travel to rebook their travel to a later date without penalty. We have also adjusted our cancellation terms to offer greater options to our guests. We ask that you please contact our sales centre if you or your clients would like more information.

This is not a situation any of us were anticipating or desire, but we are confident this challenging period will pass, the tourism industry will recover, and, collectively, we will emerge stronger than ever. From our team to yours, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.

Best regards,

Steve Sammut
President and Chief Executive Officer
