Border Entry Requirements for Canada & the US

Before you depart for your journey, please ensure you review the entry requirements for Canada or the USA. All visitors to Canada and the United States will require appropriate ID, passports, and documentation as outlined below.

Entry into Canada

Passport & Visas

Depending on your citizenship, you may require a valid passport and/or visa to enter Canada. Visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Some international travellers who fly to Canada will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), prior to boarding a flight to Canada. Learn if you need an eTA for entry into Canada. We strongly recommend that you check for additional entry requirements for Canada.
 

Proof of Vaccination

Effective October 1, 2022, the Government of Canada no longer requires travellers, regardless of citizenship, to be fully vaccinated to enter Canada for any purpose. 
 

Entry into the US

Passport & Visas

Depending on your citizenship, you may require a valid passport and/or visa. Please visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ for more information. We strongly recommend that you check for additional entry requirements to the United States.

 

Proof of Vaccination

The US CDC announced, that starting May 12, 2023, travellers, regardless of citizenship, no longer need to be fully vaccinated to enter the United States for any purpose. 

 


It is your responsibility to identify and obtain the necessary paperwork and visas before the start of their trip, for entry into Canada and/or the United States. Permission to enter the United States or Canada is granted solely at the discretion of Customs and Immigration Officers.
